One-of-a-kind pieces, upcycled from vintage kimono — made by MACHIKO KIMONO together with 愛, in Yamagata.

The Maker

愛 (Ai) — Designer & Seamstress. Ai is a name that means "love" in Japanese.

She has over 15 years of hands-on experience at an alterations atelier in Yamagata. In this collection, she and MACHIKO shape each design together through dialogue: every pattern is drawn on paper by her hand, and every piece is sewn by her hand. As each is one of a kind, please understand that these garments take time to make.
