“KAMON 家紋”
About the mark on this HAORI

This mark is called KAMON and is the emblem representing the family.
In the old days, only a few people of high status were allowed to have KAMON, but during the Meiji era (1868–1912), ordinary people were also permitted to use them.

This haori family crest is called 「片喰紋(かたばみもん / Katabami-mon)」.
Katabami-mon is a traditional Japanese family crest featuring the katabami (wood sorrel) plant, recognized by its distinctive three heart-shaped leaves. Because the plant spreads vigorously and is remarkably resilient, it has long symbolized prosperity, the continuation of family lineage, and enduring vitality in Japanese heraldic tradition.
